I never in my wildest dreams thought that Id ever find myself in total agreement with Senator Diane Feinstein, but on this shes dead on. It blew me away to hear that our White House had said so specifically, we do not seek the destruction of ISIS. ISIS is in a league that includes such fine organizations as the Nazis or the Khmer Rouge...it is peerless in its evil. In spite of its evil soul, it is, indeed, an effective military force that is gathering power. Its recent military activities in Iraq demonstrate a proficiency that probably hasnt been seen by any adversary since the Vietnam War. ISIS is showing a capacity to choose its targets carefully and to choose those battles which it can win. Its also choosing targets which it can realistically hold. Its battlefield successes are undoubtedly helping its recruitment. Whatever our governments ultimate intentions, telling the enemy that we dont seek their destruction communicates volumes to them....as it has the Taliban. This enemy has its eye on nothing less than the destruction of us and our civilization. They wont be slowed by pin-pricks and rhetoric.
