I never knew Chris Kyle. My only opinion concerning him comes - TopicsExpress

I never knew Chris Kyle. My only opinion concerning him comes from watching interviews on television by or about him. And of course how he is portrayed in “American Sniper”. From that I find it difficult to believe anyone would argue that he was anything less than a courageous and honorable individual dedicated to his family, country, and his fellow service members. He did not pick the enemy, he simply volunteered when he saw an attack on the freedom his nation provided. To my understanding very “kill” accredited to him was to prevent that person from bringing direct harm to his fellow service members. “American Sniper” is not an attempt to glorify either war or Kyle himself. It is about the effect that war has on individuals, their families and perhaps everyone they will ever know. Few if any, who have experienced war, would wish that horror on their son or daughter if it could be avoided. However most would go again if America were attack and the call came. Equally true is the fact that I have no personal knowledge of Michael Moore. Again my only source is from television interviews by or about him and his movies. From that I find him to be among the more despicable and disingenuous individuals I can imagine. He reaps the benefits and freedom from a nation he has amassed a fortune spewing hatred toward. He refers to Kyle as a coward when he does not have the conviction to live by his own twisted values. If we could rank order everyone by their value and contribution to their fellow humans, Chris Kyle would place well above average. People like Michael Moore and Jane Fonda (from my war) would fall well below the value that cockroaches have to mankind.
