I picked up a 3-4 ft. snake (garter snake or king snake) off our street the other day and put it in a plastic bag in the back seat of the car. It started escaping while I was driving and Meredith (my 10 year old daughter) described it as one of the most traumatic days of her whole life! :-)). You should have seen the people in cars around me at the intersection when I got out of my car, opened the back door, and pulled a fairly large snake out by its tail. I really wanted to let the snake go in our back yard, but with the traffic and all, I just had to let it go!
