I post to social media for the following reasons (in order of personal importance) 1. Journaling - so me, my kids, my grand kids can look back at my life. I was here. 2. Bookmarking - keep track of links, places, thoughts I might need to refer back to 3. Sharing with friends and family - so that they might get a laugh, inspiration etc. Also so that we might stay in touch with each other. 4. Influence - to influence the thoughts, feelings, direction of others in a way that I think is positive of the world (or for me?). Might also lead to life opportunities. 5. External Validation - do my ideas resonate? Am I crazy? Am I liked? 6. Game mechanics - followers, comments, likes. Its a video game. Why do you post/participate in social media?
