I previously wrote a post about lice and turning customers away - TopicsExpress

I previously wrote a post about lice and turning customers away and wanted to write a follow up post. Upon further research, I strongly advise all of you to see what your laws and rules have to say AND what the CDC considers a diagnosis of lice. According to California, you may service someone the day after treatment, it says nothing about removing all nits or not being able to complete a service solely on the presence of nits. Also the CDC clearly states removal of all nits is not necessary for treatment and is only for aesthetic reasons. Additionally, the presence of nits- especially if they are more than 1/4 inch from the scalp is not considered a diagnosis. So if you have stylists that are regularly turning people away, keep these facts in mind. We have sanitation measures in place for a reason. And how embarrassing to send a customer away only to have them find out we were wrong and humiliated them needlessly. Do the research, and definitely be suspicious if certain stylists seem to be finding cases frequently and sending our precious customers packing.
