I rarely do this but today my heart is broken because of the divisions I see in the body of Christ. Last night I was at a church to present the ministries of Gospelink. At the end I was told that they could not support us because we reached over denominational lines. With approximately 41,000 Christian denominations in America, who all believe that their belief system is right, have we come to the place where grace is vanishing? Do we need to get back to the statement of the early church fathers who said, in essentials unity, (that salvation is by grace thru faith in the finished work of Christ) in non-essentials tolerance, (the name of our church separates us from others, “unspoken of course”) in all things love. (John 13:34-35) After working with Gospelink for 7 months I am concerned that cannibalistic Christianity is still alive and well in the America church. Galatians 5:15 But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another. And after all is said and done, we complain that people are not attracted to our churches, and to Christ. I wonder why?
