I read with great sadness about the Arlington family murder. Divorce is a very stressful time in peoples lives. When a person is aboutto have a baby, in public health, we often connect up with the new mother/family,and, we might send out a public health nurse to help the mother/family have a successful birth. Well, to help people have successful and peaceful divorces, it might be helpful to reach out, provide a neutral party to help them navigate the process. Mr. Jones in the past suffered from depression and suicide thoughts and with this past knowledge, having someone to help him cope might have been a good thing. Going it alone can be tough and stressful. Studies show that when an individual is suicidal, they are at most risk to not only themselves, but to others too. We as a society, have to help individuals, such as Mr. Jones, while going through tough situations, so they do not hurt themselves and like in this case others too.
