I received news yesterday that Im being given a Tricolour Award from Queens University. This award is described as the single highest honour that can be bestowed upon a Queens student for non-academic, non-athletic service to the community. In other words, the award is reserved for the most outstanding individuals that have ever walked through our campus. All this makes me think three things: 1) Im humbled. Everything Im being recognized for has been done with others, many of whom I think deserve this way more than me. 2) Thank you Mom. 3) Im going to advocate to have the engraving of my name that comes with this award turned into an acrostic poem that incorporates each of you that has been there with me along the way. Failing that, Im just going to have to show my love for yall even more going forward. Thanks yall :)
