“I said in my haste that I am cut off from Your gaze; - TopicsExpress

“I said in my haste that I am cut off from Your gaze; nevertheless, You heard the humility and honesty of my voice when I cried out to You!” – King David Ain’t it the truth? People are quick to assign negative traits to God to their own detriment! We continually underestimate His love for, and patience with, us! We are so quick to attribute to Him the actions of our emotions and shortcomings – like cutting off people who don’t agree with us or moving to crush those who take contrary positions against us! It should make us wonder why we call Him, “God!” God doesn’t give up on us as easily and quickly as we do others! And we should stop assuming negative feelings from Him and quit assigning negative reactions to Him. God happens to love us with a pure love that is pretty well documented. And He doesn’t “do” bad stuff to us “in His anger!” People not only assign being cut off from God for their underperformance but seem willing to add any resulting disaster to Him as well; everything from “bad luck” and dreary days, to car accidents and surprise diseases, to natural disasters like hurricanes, quakes and tornadoes. And proof is that there is so much fist shaking toward heaven with loud cries of “WHY? WHY ME? WHY GOD?” (Sorry, if you’re going to ask “why?” you are going to have to be a whole lot less superstitious about the answers.) God is not angry with mankind. He so loved us that He gave us a way out of everything from hum-drum existence to a lives pumped full of misery. He not only gave us a way out, He gave us the power to turn around and overcome some of the most horrendous issues of broken life in a broken world. God is not angry with mankind… He is not angry with you… and if you happen to do it – you need to stop presuming to know that He is (angry), has cut you off, and is unwilling to come to your aid to stop the pain and turn your life around. If you are going to cry out – don’t cry out AGAINST the heavens “from where your help comes from” but cry out TO the heavens “where your help comes from!!!” And if your prayer is humble and honest – here’s what David says follows: “marvelous kindness, preservation of the faithful one, and action against the circumstances you find yourself in…” and if you add to your part, “being of good courage (standing firm in the storm, believing the One who loves you will deliver you)” then He will “strengthen your heart” for your hope in Him! Trouble is going to come in life. You can lose your head and ignorantly rail against the only One who can truly help you. Or you can curb your thoughts, scoop up the “stinking thinking,” call out to Him and see the light of day dawn on the darkness. In either case, we choose to lose or to live!
