I sashayed up to the MOT station in my fabulous VW surfbus. Fully confident in the 2 years of Blood, Sweat and tears (and Martin Sawyers technical skill) that had been spent on it. I enjoyed the country drive, the feel of the old bus as it lurched in to the bends, the large steering wheel, like the classic school bus, its elevated driving position. I laughed at passers-by, & their enchanted facers as they observed my jollified bus (with its surf motif). I glowed both inwardly and outwardly, as I arrived at the aforementioned, Garage forecourt. A long day coming, I thought...how happy my spouse will be, it gets a years license on the Queens highways... At this point the old girl decided to spill her guts...jettisoning the entire contents of my coolant system on the floor. Oh No! My gallant MOT facilitator provided the incisive diagnosis That will be the head gasket he supplied....Noooooooooooooo! It better not me I replied hesitantly, its a new engine. Indeed a 5 inch (man inches) hose had burst...phew! She still failed the MOT....brakes. But tomorrow is a new day. Smile Muthafooker!
