I saw a man physically abusing a female in Vegas and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. Ive never felt so helpless. I knew the correct response was to stop him in any way that I could but I was afraid for myself. I tried to intervene vocally but the bully and his two cohorts made it clear that if I objected to their actions toward her then I would be the next victim in line. I pleaded, I reasoned, I tried tried tried to talk sensibly; but the bullies had already made up their minds. Their disposition toward intimidation, aggression, and downright meanness had been fully established. Their lack of empathy and basic human understanding was appalling. Eventually the bullies tired of their abuse and left us alone. They seemed quite satisfied with their work as I escorted two teary eyed young ladies away from the scene... And that was my encounter with the LVPD.
