I saw a thing of beauty tonight. Driving home, there was a big sign warning everyone that the left lane was closing and telling us to merge right. As always, half of us got into the right lane while the half of us who are complete assholes sped along the left lane expecting to push their way over at the last possible moment. But all this ever does is cause a giant blockage and bring traffic to a complete stop for miles behind. Stupid, stupid people... But then it happened. I watched in my mirror as two 18-wheelers behind me maneuvered so they were side by side, one in each lane, and then stopped dead. Then, after a sizable gap had opened up in front of them, they began to move at a slow walking pace keeping everybody behind them in their own lane and preventing anyone from speeding ahead. It was awesome to see. This is why Id happily admit I love truckers... if that sentiment didnt sound so open to misinterpretation.
