I saw today an image of violence and cruelty directed toward an innocent and helpless creature. I saw this video in the privacy of my home. It is jarring and painful for me to witness scenes of physical violence against children and animals. I know this evil exists, but I do not wish to give it space in my consciousness. I suppose “sharing” promises to rid the world of this horrid culprit. It is my most sincere conviction that sharing these videos offers no remedy. It only gives validity to something that does not merit it. I am not hiding from the harshness of this world. I know there are people who have no respect for the life that God so beautifully creates, but I don’t want them in my living room! Please, stop circulating these images of defenseless creatures being tortured.
