I shouldnt do this to myself but I watched the secret life of dogs last night and again there were some great pieces on it and facts; however I get amazed that with all the consultants they must have that they still televised potentially dangerous incidents - there is one scene showing an owner giving affection to his dog, the dog turns his head away and licks his lips (this is a stress response) this follows with whale eye and a freeze all preludes to a snap!!!! Now the owner may do this frequently with out any stress responses but having cameras, lights and lots of new people around adds to the stress coupled with the restriction (hug) the dog cannot escape - I cannot stress how dangerous this could be - this is when those stories come out about the dog acted with no warning and so out of character this dog was waving a big flag and shouting with a megaphone I am not comfortable give me space......... please please take care with your dogs and watch out for stress signals and act accordingly - FOR THE DOG!!!
