I started to notice, when I was curating, there would be these back-turned paintings that artists didnt want to show me. But they werent going to burn those paintings either, right? They were critical for the works that would then go on to their acclaim. And I really wanted to understand what can happen in someone when they find as, say, J.K. Rowling did, that rock bottom can become the solid foundation to spark a rise.
