I still can not believe what I Heard. Sunday night I sat down - TopicsExpress

I still can not believe what I Heard. Sunday night I sat down to view a taped recording of The Sunday Game following my trip to the Kerry/Galway game and I must admit at being completely stunned and astonished when I heard the comments of panelists Martin McHugh in relation to Colm Cooper. I just could not believe what I had heard so I rewound the tape and yes there it was. A shocking offensive and insulting remark that Colm Cooper was “just a two trick pony” and that his team mate James o Donoghue was a far better player than him. How any panelist on national TV could come out with a comment like that is to me simply unbelievable. What was the man thinking about? When James, a brilliant young player and a member of my own club has played for Kerry and achieved what Colm has done then it will be time to just compare them as we always do in Kerry with all our players. The remark was discourteous to both lads but when we have to listen to equally ill-mannered remarks from Joe Brolly for so long then why should I be so surprised. Nevertheless as a media man myself presenting radio programs live for years I still con not get my head around such a blatantly ignorant and shocking remark about one of the best 15 Kerry footballers’ that I have seen watching them all since 1955. Am I just naive or can some one explain why anyone would come out on national TV with such a comment??.
