I strongly urge everyone to PLEASE comply with these visitor restrictions! We dont do it for the hell of it. We do it for the safety and health of your baby. The respiratory virus that is going around is nothing to be taken lightly and is very serious. We dont want to take the chance of your or anyone elses baby getting very very sick. Regardless of if your children do not attend school or daycare other peoples do and could carry the virus into the hospital with them and potentially get your child sick. Who you let visit your newborn once you get home is completely up to you. We are simply asking people to please help us limit babys exposure as long as possible. Children happen to be the most common carrier. Unfortunately this means not allowing children to visit the unit. Trust me, we dont like having to keep siblings out. Most only have mild cold like symptoms but serious complications can occur, especially in infants and those with weakened immune systems, causing need for hospitalization with severe respiratory illness/distress.
