I suppose that as long as my mind is good, I shall remember Jimmy and Opal and Pete and I making a trip to the Smoky Mountains. We were in our motor homes pulling our little run around vehicles behind the RVs. We didnt go very far the first night of the memorable escapade. John Elbert Stewart had suggested we spend a night at White Oak State Park in Arkansas. Well sir, after seeing some sites between here and there (and of course stopping at several souvenir shops for Opal), we pulled into the state park. The little roads were more like trails. Jimmys motor home was about a 34-footer. Ours was about 29-1/2. We were to find two good spots and Jim was to follow. After a couple of sharp curves we heard Jimmys voice on the two-way radio, Say, Pete, I believe Im a-gonna hafta bend this motor home to make it around the next curve! Pete and I burst into laughter.
