I taught a Humanities class about the 1960s at UL over 20 years - TopicsExpress

I taught a Humanities class about the 1960s at UL over 20 years ago. One of my guest speakers was the great civil rights activist Ann Braden. At one point I told her and the class about an incident that had happened to me recently in Seneca Park. I was sitting on the side of the road past midnight trying to recover from an anxiety attack, when a police car pulls up and one of the officers shines a flashlight in my face. They asked me if I was okay and when I told them yes, calmly drove off. Ann and most of the class agreed that if my face had been black that night the scenario was likely to have been much different. As this video proves, somethings never change.
