I taught for the Jackson -Madison County School System for thirty and 1/2 years. I loved every minute of my educational career. I have to say the last four years and nine months of working at Lakeshore Camp and Retreat Center have blessed me in ways I never thought possible. I am hosting several groups this weekend and last night I was preparing the dining room for the breakfast meal. One of my tasks was to place the chairs at the tables. I am always asking people to support Lakeshore and to help us raise money for our ministry and to help with several events and fundraisers. In January of 2013 many of you helped us purchase two hundred chairs for the dining hall. We sold all of the chairs in two weeks via Facebook and e-mail. Last night as I placed each chair around the tables I read the names of the people for whos memory or honor they were purchased. I was deeply blessed and touched by each name that I read. Many of these people I have gotten to know since my time here at Lakeshore . One of the first names that I read was Dr. Willis Gilliland, a former United Methodist Minister. Then I read Dr. George Teer ,his Grandson John Raper worked on or summer staff. Dr. Teer was a Dentist in Jackson. I read the names of Gracie and Jacke Cocke, Troy and Allyson Taylor, Tina Martin, Suzanne Harvey, Dr. Jim Alford , Jerry and Ann Jeffords, Allie Kate Heit, Dr. Clarence (Lefty) and Allestine Hare, Macy and Eyan Hudson and Easton Phifer, Jean Brown given by Gary and Ginger Sloan. Martha Hollified. Papa G, and Mama Vs Grandchildren, Caryn Kendrick, Kevin Beasley, Peggy Beasley, Greg and Diane Rose, Dustin and Allison Phelps, Warner Turner, Allie Kate Heit, and Jerry and Ann Jeffords. I want to thank everyone that helped us purchase the chairs and I want to Praise God for each of these people and the blessing they have been to me. This was truly a special blessing.
