I tell you what people; Im having a run of bad luck when it comes to leaving. Let me explain: Ok. Last Thursday, I picked up a trailer for a load. When I inspected the trailer, I seen that the clearance lights was not working. No big deal. I go to a Petro in Carlisle, PA. When I get there; they told me that they wont be able to get me in for 5 or 6 hours. By the time I got the lights fixed; the day was over and I ended up staying there the night. I get up the next day. Do my pretrip inspection and low and behold. I got a light out on my truck. A light just above the windshield. Get in the shop for that; after waiting for 3 hours. When the mechanic takes the light off; he says they have to order one from freightliner. That will take about an hour 1/2. While Im waiting; I deside to go get a shower and a bite to eat. When I get back to the shop. They tell me that they just finished with my truck. I look at the time. I said to my self, Well! The day is almost over. Might just go ahead and stay another night. I did. Now. During this whole time, Ive been seeing a doctor about my leg. The doctor cleared me to drive. Im also been taking medication for pain and antibiotics. I told my dispatcher this. He gives me a load anyway. I start my day. After about 45 minutes of driving; my meds are kicking in. Im getting tired. I stop in Greencastle, PA. I tell my dispatcher this. He gets all panicky. Saying things like, Why did you tell me you was taking medication? If I knew you was on medication; I wouldnt have given you a load. I told him that I was taking medication the day I was cleared to drive. He didnt say anything after that. Now. Im ready to leave. Low and behold; the truck is tour up again. Whats wrong with it you ask. Ill tell you. It will not regen, check engine light is on, and the ABS light is on for the trailer. If the regen light is blinking (which it is) truck wont stay running for no more than a couple of minutes before it shut down. Now I have to get towed outbid here. That sucks.
