I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy - TopicsExpress

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all loneliness and gentleness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love. - Ephesians 4:1-2 This was what I studied for my devotional this morning. The word worthy means deserving effort, attention, or respect. Are we living and striving to live our lives in such a way that would be WORTHY to God the creator of everything? I know its certainly a struggle to live in such a way that would be pleasing to the one who knows your every thought and intention, but He still loves us enough to die for us! He wants us to spend ETERNITY with Him! I cant wrap my mind around eternity, but the thought just makes me want to dance for joy. XD We are supposed to walk worthy of the calling with which we were called. I believe my calling is to teach children both in my walk with the Lord and in my profession. Children are the next generation, and if they are not being taught to love The Lord, then how can we expect them to keep sharing the gospel and pass the love of God to the next generation and to nonbelievers? Proverbs 22:6 says train up a child in the way he should go, and he shall not depart from it. I know teaching children is a huge responsibility, but if nobody does it, then they wont be trained in the way they should go. I am so thankful God had me study that this morning! A reminder of why I love little kids and love teaching them. Theyre simply such a joy to love on and watch them grow up! My prayer is that I would not teach children falsely, be a poor witness, or live in such a way that would cause them to stumble. Lord help me to love on children even more than youve given me a passion for, and help me to train them up in the way Youve called them to. Amen!
