I think I have post-traumatic-fasted-cardio-syndrome. Its been over a year and I STILL feel weird (and almost guilty) about just rolling out of bed and... eating. There is a very powerful (yet twisted) mental block we develop, as competitors, in believing that we should have to earn our food. Truth be told: I am currently doing one 30min cardio session per week (and thats more than Ive done over the past 6 months). We all respond differently (although there are, clearly, heart-health; endorphin release; and improved insulin sensitivity benefits to cardio). AND... While I readily admit that I will eventually work myself into double sessions (once prep begins)- I think its imperative to assess the efficacy of programming. Are you doing cardio to merely MAINTAIN your body composition (in which case you may need to re-think that program)- OR... are you doing it to lean-out and actually getting RESULTS? - Something to think about...
