I think its just adorable that anyone here, whether white knighting Bear Grylls or calling him out for his astonishing hubris, thinks it will have any effect at all on their (anti)hero. Grylls became Chief Scout to sell more books and associated merchandise. He IS a brand, and a very successful one. He doesnt read this page. He wont be wading through the comments on Adrians post. He doesnt care what is said on a diddly Facebook page. Defend or attack him at will, guys. Fill your boots. It will make no difference at all. This is a steam relief exercise at best, I could write at very considerable length about who joins scouting and why, and I wouldnt need to mention Bear Grylls once :) But I think Ill do some living instead.
