I think its time for a little review of the next-to-final actions of the man much of St. Louis is hailing as a martyr. If you start at 1:15, you can see how the store clerk tries to prevent Michael Brown and his friend from leaving, ostensibly with merchandise they picked up earlier on the tape and hadnt paid for. Watch it objectively and tell me if you think Mike Brown was a violent person, a teenager who might have assaulted a police officer if he felt threatened or angry. We definitely need to address profiling and whether minorities are more likely to be harassed or harmed by police without just cause, but raising Mike Brown up as a hero isnt the wisest way to do that. Kids need real role models to look up to, people who abide by the law, are kind to others and strive toward positive goals. Its terrible that Mike Brown died so young, and I feel awful for his friends and loved ones, but it doesnt make him admirable. Unless we want a generation of kids who think its cool to steal, push people around and defy police, wed better consider the messages were imparting. https://youtube/watch?v=9Uf5mfE057E
