I think many of us have an uneasy feeling that something big is on the horizon. I myself have, for the last couple of years, had this strange feeling that some significant event awaits us. Its a lurking sense of doom, if you will and this sense is more mainstream than many of us permit ourselves to believe. Have we not noticed societies preoccupation with end-times? There are numerous television shows and movies which presume to tell the tale of anarchy and annihilation. Of destruction and collapse. From the dramatic uptick in the classic zombie, mass extinction storyline to the sudden and permanent loss of modern technologies resulting in pandemonium. From natural disasters such as asteroids, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions to pandemics of mutated viruses too. Writers put forth what sells and this is what society is buying. I am not of the mindset that this preoccupation of end-times stems from external social forces, such as the medias storytelling, but rather has an internal, almost instinctual, origin, perhaps having a spiritual connection. One might even call this a sixth sense. Yes, there are many of us who have this compelling sense of urgency rising up in our spirits. Is all this concern merited and should it be perceived as a precursory warning of things to come? I fear preperation should be made. I hope Im wrong. Stories like the one Im posting below lend credence to our odd suspicions. Either we trust God or, we do not.
