I thought this may be of interest to some? I read it in the Virgin Inflight magazine August 14 Issue 157, the article was Diary of an Artist Waleeds Aly is a Journalist, Author, TV Presenter, Radio Host and University Lecturer. When asked what his three guiding principals were he responded.... 1. Let passion drive you. Im of the exact opposite of everything youre told to be...I dont set goals I dont have a routine I dont set aside time for special tasks. I do whatever passion is driving me to do. 2. Dont sweat rejection. When you face rejection you have to realise that better people than you have been rejected and worse people than you have been accepted, in certain cases there is an inherent arbitrariness as to whether you face that rejection in the first place. 3. Seek constant improvement. You cant allow the value of what you do and who you are to be based on the judgement of other people-even if those other people have power. But that doesnt mean you should become blind to feedback. I think you need to be on a constant search for improvement. Fascinating - may work for some? Some would work for me!
