I try to lecture native Christians on why we need to return to Onkwehonwehnéha (The native way) both in how we treat each other and our spiritual beliefs. Many though are so conditioned to believe in a religion of slavery (Literally Christians believe you either have to be a servant of Satan or their interpretation of God) that so many brothers & sisters cant contemplate the concept of freedom that our ancestors knew. Yes our ancestors worshiped the Great Spirit (Almost every tribe has some way of referring to the creator as such the Great Spirit sometimes Great Mystery just like the Four Directions Four Winds medicine wheel is in every tribe I know of so far) but we did not consider ourselves servants. Just children. A true father or mother does not consider their kids slaves.
