I use to shoot my rifle and .22 at the letter b in the word Pabst - TopicsExpress

I use to shoot my rifle and .22 at the letter b in the word Pabst of a Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer can back in the day, just to see if I could hit it. Today I did something Ive never done before and had me quite baffled at first........ I set up a target by drawing a black circle about the size of a silver dollar, on a cardboard piece about 10x20. and mount to a large tree so it stops the bullet dead and shows me if I (somehow) miss the entire target LOL. The tree was about 90 yrds. I like to be about 1 high at 100 yrds in case I see a trophy at 250 yrds.; the bullet drops a little after 150 yrds or more.... Today I shot 3 times........ The 1st shot was about 1.5 high and 1 to the left.....The 2nd shot blew my mind in wondering what the H happened? (Both labeled in white here) There was only ONE hole! Ive never missed completely an entire target like that b4 in my life! No holes in the tree.....I was completely confuddled.....Imagine pulling off 2 shots, and only seeing one hole!?. Could I have even possibly put 2 bullets in ONE hole from nearly 100 yrds so close that the hole didnt appear to be more than one bullet??? Then I pulled the 3rd shot, a little nervous as to what just happened....The 3rd shot hit slightly even more to the left about .5. I labeled that one in red here. After looking closer now at the bullet holes, it became clearer to see the difference between a single penetration mark (3rd shot) and the double penetration mark ( 1 and 2 in white) now! See for yourself here in the photos....it is very evident in the 2nd photo. May not be much to others, but to me, it was amazing. Ive always been known to be extremely accurate with a .22, and the .308 Ive had for 25 years now. Look at those holes...I wont forget sighting gun in this time for a long time.....
