I used to have this condition to a moderate degree and I think it was due to philosophical idealism. Im not kidding. I had a very abstract, rather than organic idea of myself and pushed myself into modes of conformity that were very, very mechanical and ultimately inimical to the human condition, which requires respect for biorythms, responsiveness to ones own emotional states and time taken out for pure pleasure. Also I was repressing a lot of aggression. The body does not respond well to being coralled by philosophical idealist notions. When it cannot rebel, as the will is too strong, it breaks down.
