I usually dont do all out rants (much) but I have to say something about this. Speaking as someone who has been training martial arts since I was 7 and having been able to train in more than one style and have had the privilege of training with and under some phenomenal people. IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM DOES CROSSFIT EVER EQUATE TO LEARNING SELF DEFENSE!! Im seeing these CrossFit self defense videos and its RIDICULOUS! Respect to CrossFit as a very good form of exercise a way to help people lose weight, tone muscle, and be healthy which is always great. But thats all it is a form of exercise. If you want to learn how to defend yourself enroll at a martial arts school or attend a seminar by a trained recognized martial arts instructor. All martial arts styles are great some can be more practically used than others. I would always recommend Jiu Jitsu first of course. Other styles such as judo,aikido,krav maga,kali(arnis), wrestling,boxing,muay thai, savate are efficient as well and have their efficient techniques as does Jiu Jitsu.
