I usually just post silly stuff or funny crap thats only in my twisted brain but Im feeling a little discouraged tonight. Today the MO Public Service Commission voted to dismiss the rate hike charges Noranda had filed against Ameren. Im begging you parents to please make sure you encourage your child to not only do well in school, but also push them to attend college & get a degree. I cant count the times people I know personally have gotten passed over for jobs they had experience in, just to see a younger, less experienced, less dedicated person get that job ONLY because they had a college degree. I dont want to think the worst, but if Noranda lays off a lot if people or eventually shuts the doors, what will the average, middle class family in Portageville & the surrounding communities do? Our houses wont sell because so many others will be in the same boat. I dont hate Portageville. Thats where Daddy & Momma live. Its where my Grandparents lived. But I sure do wish I wouldve gotten the heck out of here when I was young. I dont like the feeling of not knowing if my husband is going to have a job much longer... I know Im rambling but I know one thing, If I have to do without, I will do everything in my power to make sure Emma goes to college & has a chance at a stable future. #themindISaterriblethingtowaste!
