I want to champion the use of Google Hangouts over Whatsapp. Heres why I think you should use it: 1. It works across devices - phone, tablet, desktop (this reason alone trumps whatsapp) 2. It works across OS-es 3. It makes it easy to switch numbers and devices without having to update everyone what your new number is. (Especially useful when travelling) Because of the above it brings you the following benefits: 1. Conversations that are not disjointed. 2. If you travel and end up having to rent a phone with a local simcard, you can just sign in to hangouts and voila it just works. No need to update a gazillion people on whatsapp. No need to reauthenticate and stuff. (Same thing if you decide to get a new number or device locally) 3. When youre having a conversation with someone on mobile...and reach home or office, you can seamless switch to conversing over the desktop on a proper keyboard and monitor instead of having to be chained to your mobile. What other pros/cons can you think of? Why do you still use Whatsapp instead of something more cross platform?
