I want to chime in on this because I think both Apple and U2 have taken a great amount of heat for something, dare I say, innovative. Thats right innovative. U2 has been known to reinvent itself and its sound every couple of albums. They are true musical pioneers. And what of Apple? Not only was this album release massive, it was totally unlike anything ever done in the history of music. Yeah, you can explain that its an invasion of your digital privacy because they gave it to you unknowingly... but really it just put it in the cloud and only those who were setup to auto-sync with the cloud had it crammed down their throats. (If you are that worried about privacy I wouldnt let anything auto-sync to your device. Lets keep some sense of control, eh?) Anyway, I digress... This type of unprecedented tech event is the type of thing that Apple was famous for under Steve Jobs and Im sure somewhere Steve is rocking out to the Joshua Tree thinking, Well played boys.
