I want to take this time to say Congratulations to the Lady Tigers of The Doyle High School Tigers of the Town of Livingston from Livingston Parish. I grew up there and went to and Graduated from Doyle High School on the Night of May 20, 1968. I am really proud of what you have accomplished this Year Ladies. You have worked hard and for that hard work you have earned your right at Playing for the State Championship of Louisiana in Class 2A for the Year of 2014, Nobody can ever take that away from you. Go Tigers! Lets finish what you started and win it all! Either way I am Proud of what you accomplished this year. God Bless Your Pea-Pickin-Hearts! What was not up for debate after Doyle notched a 49-47 come-from-behind victory over Lake Arthur in the Class 2A semifinal at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association-State Farm Top 28 Tournament was Taylin Underwood’s effort . The 5-foot-7 Southeastern Louisiana University signee scored a game-high 32 points and made the game-winning free throws with 4.4 seconds remaining at Burton Coliseum. “She wanted it,” Lake Arthur coach Edie Higgins said of Underwood. “She definitely wanted to go to the next step. We did everything we could, face-guarding her trying to shut her down. Til We Meet Again - NOLA couldn’t stop her.” With the win, the third-seeded Tigers (28-7) advance to play top-seeded North Caddo (33-1) in the 2A title game set for 8 p.m. Friday. It is Doyle’s first trip to the title game since finishing as the Class B runner-up in 1998. Lake Arthur (28-4), the No. 2 seed, finishes 28-4 in its first tourney berth since 1976.
