Well this is it. The last night of my mat leave. Ive been off for 13 1/2 months. Its been the best time of my life. As I sit here looking at my little girl, I cant help but remember the anxiety and fear I felt when I first went on mat leave. Now my anxiety is not for going back to work but for Lillian. All mothers and fathers hate knowing that their child will be sad and will be calling out for them but they cant do anything about it. I know that with time she will adjust. Ive seen it many times. Im so blessed to be able to have Lillian in the same centre that I work in. I know shes in great hands. I know and have worked with the educators for over 3 years. My heart may be heavy because I will not be spending all day with her but it will also be light knowing shes in great hands. Cherish every moment with your little ones. Time passes so quickly.
