I want to touch on a subject that I hear a lot concerning photo images. Has the image been enhanced? Does the photographer present an actual Interpretations of the subject? Folks, I am here to tell you now, NO! There is no such thing. So just enjoy the images and if you think it is different than your vision of it then that is your creation and not the photographers. Do you have a camera that turns out images that without any other input creates an image that actually measures up to being there? I know of no camera that does that. That is why you hear so often; This doesnt do justice to what you see live. You should have been there. Even if you just snap shots, a cameras particular settings at the shutter release imposes its setting on the image. That is what photos are, all photos are just an interpretation of the light when the shutter fires. By changing the setting gets you a totally different image. I have never used auto on my cameras. I adjust all shots on manual mode. As I change the shutter speed, aperture opening, and ISO setting gives me a completely different light image. I compose in the camera and adjust to an image that is pleasing to me. When viewing an image, it makes no difference what the image is except do you like it? Do you enjoy the image? Does it wake up the receptors in your brain? Another example; if you line up 20 people all with a different camera set on Auto and they all take a photo of a subject at the same exact moment, are they all the same exact image? No they are not. Not one will look exactly the same as the others. Otherwise we wouldnt have Cannons, Nikons, Sonys. Paul Simon would not have written his hit song Kodachrome with its nice easy colors. In film formats every type of film is a totally different look. So my question is, does the image make you smile? Does it wake up the endorphins in your brain? That is what is important. Do you like it? Dont overthink it, just enjoy or not.
