I wanted to follow up with the exploding Pyrex situation from Friday. Customer service was very nice and went through every step I did to see what the problem was. Since my oven was preheated, there was indeed sauce in the bottom of the dish under the peppers (and it wasnt being baked dry) and there werent any temperature extremes, they concluded that there must have been a bruise in the class. They said that nothing has changed with their glass since the 1940s, but on occasion a bruise or flaw can occur either in manufacturing or somewhere along the way. They were super apologetic and nice, are sending me a new dish and offered a $35 gift certificate for their website. Honestly, I just wanted to make sure that this isnt a usual occurrence, since I love baking in Pyrex.
