I wanted to take a few seconds to apologize to all my friends and family that love and care for me. You all should know by now that I am pretty stubborn but I let that stubbornness bring me to a very dangerous place. After walking around for 4 weeks with some pretty serious breathing difficulty and a family history of such. I finally ended up in the ER this week with a massive amount of blood clots in my lungs. The specialist I saw told me that only 1 in 3 people with the amount I have would have made it to the hospital alive. I dont want to cause any heartache to the people I care for and especially not to my wife, Cheryl and my son Jack. I want to be here for them as long as I can. Trying to tough everything out is not the best way to do that. So Ill be dialing back my stubbornness as much as possible and try not to let something like this happen again. While we still dont know the cause yet I am being treated and hopefully all will go well. I will also be in for some changes to my lifestyle going forward. No more hockey for probably a year at the least, working out is done for a little while too, and I will need to be extremely careful with anything that could cause me to bleed in any way (internal or external) as the blood thinners will turn down the ability for it to clot and could turn a minor issue into something extremely serious.
