I was awakened by my dog Chief barking at something outside early the other morning, I let him outside, and he barked a little more, then he seemed spooked and wanted to come in. I heard a very strange sound. I assumed it was a raccoon, or maybe an owl, but it wasnt like anything Ive heard before. It continued to hoot for several minutes. Yesterday, I checked our outdoor cameras and 2 minutes before I let Chief out this very large bird swooped across our alley. The video is of very poor quality, but I am certain after reading about the Barred Owl, and hearing its call, that this is what Chief was alerting me to.
