I was given 8 as the number of things you may not know about me... so here goes: 1. At age 3 I fell off of a balcony onto a cement patio squarely onto my head. Yes, I know that explains a lot about me. All I remember of that was being pulled around in a red wagon at the hospital. Not sure how safe that was, or if it really happened. :-) 2. I lived in Taiwan for roughly a year when I was 4-5. I was fascinated when I learned the neighbor kid had refrigerator full of individual milk bottles in his bedroom! The house I lived in in Taiwan had tile floor and a tile staircase. I woke up one morning after a typhoon came though and there was two inches of water on the floor and the staircase was a cool waterfall! 3. I attended 5 different elementary schools and 2 junior high schools growing up. Learning to make new friends… not a problem. :-) 4. I got my start in computers by programming TRS-80 Model 1 to show a repeating message in the window of the local Radio Shack! 5. I learned a valuable lesson from Bob Moawad at a seminar as a kid. “You can, if you think you can!” I took that thinking to the Pierce County fair with me and won the 3 prizes I wanted the most. Positive thinking, it works! 6. I worked at Custom Embroidery and Punching (now Custom Embroidery and Promotions) in Ballard, Washington. I was at work during a crazy snowstorm and had to get back down to my apartment in Kent. The owner kept us until 2 p.m. and I ended up pushing 18 cars out of the way on my way home in my dad’s borrowed Suzuki Samurai. I have owned a four or all-wheel drive car since. 7. I was a member of the Bi-centennial chorus and performed at the Tacoma Convention Center in 1976. That was my first public performance singing. I am currently a member of the Northwest Repertory Singers, performing and rehearsing at Mason Methodist Church in Tacoma and I continue to sing in choirs and individually. Occasionally I do Karaoke even… who knew! 8. I sang backups for Scott Krippayne at a concert he gave at Grace Lutheran Church in Des Moines, WA some years back and LOVED it! If I could sing all day, every day and make the living I make working at Microsoft, I’d do it in a heartbeat!
