I was glad to see that in the new releases on Netflix is The Village. M Night Shyamalan has made some great films and some terrible ones. If someone turned up on your birthday and said: Ive bought you an M Night Shyamalan movie on DVD, you would definitely be thinking I hope they kept the receipt in case it was Unbreakable or The Last Airbender. But The Village I really like. For one thing, once the elders reveal that the monster is really someone in a costume you would think that would take all the suspense out of it. Not at all, it continues to be exciting and surprising. I kind of prefer it even to The Sixth Sense because once you know the plot twist there, Im not sure it stands up to repeat viewings.
