I was going through family papers last night & found reference to an address where my Grand Aunt Bridget Godfrey resided in Dublin.She was a Nurse who died young at 38 in 1936. I dont know where she nursed possibly the Mercers Hospital. I have a feeling she may have trained to be a nurse around the War of Independence time or early Free state. I have a feeling she may have been in the Cumann na Mban as her sisters Kathleen & Mgt were. Bridget was older than them so it may be credible that she may have used her Nursing skills in the Cumann na Mban. Does anyone have experience of Tracing Nursing records of relatives for this time period. ie where were Nurses trained etc at this time.
