I was in 7th grade on September 11th, 2001. As a 12 year old, I didnt fully understand what was going on, but one thing I did understand was sports. One of the memories that will always stand out to me is Game 3 of the World Series. It was the first game of the series played in New York City, and President Bush was throwing out the first pitch. I remember thinking how powerful it was to see the President walk out to the mound, in New York City weeks removed from 9/11, with no visible protection. Then from the mound he threw a perfect strike. Politics aside, to me this has always been a sign that even if you knock America off balance, we will always pick ourselves up, stronger than ever. Thoughts and prayers with the families and friends of those lost, and always with our current military and their families keeping us free https://youtube/watch?v=NjGcCI9ByWw
