I was invited to witness the Rushcart in Saddleworth today. Its a tradition that stems back some few hundred years ago. Basically, Morris Dancers travel around the villages collecting rushes on the cart. At every pub they stop & have some local ale. Safe to say theyre all merry as the day goes on. I took the opportunity to take a few photos & strategically placed my van in the car park of the White Lion in Delph. :) low & behold it caused quite a stir & I made a few friends, Katie & her husband Neville (a priest). I spotted Katie with a badge on her jacket in support of Palestine, upon introducing myself as the owner of the van with the Palestinian flag. Neville, said something very significant & profound, or at least in my understanding. He said of the current atrocities being carried out by zionists in Gaza as a wake up call for him, that he thought we, the British, have a lot to answer for, that we think we have nothing to do with Palestine but that we as a nation have a duty towards the people of Palestine. He said, hed opened his eyes but was depressed with the ongoing killings. I told him he was blessed that his eyes, ears & mind are free from the shackles of what we are meant to see, hear & think about. We exchanged details and before we parted he said, hed spoken to me previously on the phone, that is given him advise about his old singer sewing machine! :) Any opportunity to talk #gaza #palestine
