I was just sharing this with a friend who had questions about baskets and thought I would post it here as well. Usually when youre telling someone about it theyre top question is… Is it worth it? Heres the answer in simple math: I weighed mine today and (with extras, including a guac pack (all mexican themed veggies and makings for fresh tortilla chips) and a flat of organic strawberries I had 44 pounds of produce. I paid 53.75 for my basket and extras which averages out to 1.23 a pound with extras. The basket itself was strawberries, apples, oranges, bananas, tomatoes, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, red bell peppers, english cucumbers, carrots with tops and came out to 24 pounds for the 18.50 (including the surcharge for gas and everything) or .77 a pound! That should help give you a better idea of what youre getting and it its worth it.
