I was nominated by fellow Madridista Sandeep Verma, and my buddies Keshav Gautam and Ashish Kumar Sharma to name a list of 10 footballers I have seen playing live and have impressed me the most. Thanks guys for nominating me for the #Footballbucketchallenge. Apologies for the late response, but then, better late than never. :D So, finally here is my list of 10 favourite football players:- 1.) Iker Casillas- San Iker the Loyal Legend, Astute Leader and Statesman, arguably the best goalkeeper of the era. 2.) Gareth Bale- Ferocious Pace, Tremendous Athleticism, Breathtaking runs, the fitness to maintain the Intensity the whole 90 minutes, and skilled target-man. 3.) Ronaldo Nazário de Lima- The reason I was drawn towards football for the first time after seeing his awe-inspiring performances in the WC-2002. The most lethal finisher I have ever seen. 4.) Cristiano Ronaldo- The most complete forward, with the ability to single-handedly to turn games upside down. A showboater with the skill to ably back the bravado displayed. 5.) Fernando 9 Torres- I can very vividly recall the image of The wind against his stylish free-flowing locks as he made his defence-splitting runs followed by spectacular finishing in the Euros and for Liverpool 6.) Oliver Kahn- Another legend from the 2002 WC who almost single-handedly took Germany to WC glory. Amazing fighter with a never-back-down spirit. 7.) Leo Messi- Pure Talent. The best footballer of the era, just slightly edging Cristiano Ronaldo as of now. Do I need to say more? 8.) Xabi Alonso- Absolute Class, a Leader of Men, and a brilliant distributor of the ball. 9.) Luka Modrić Mesut Özil- Flair, Class, Vision, Magician. 2 Real Madrid gems (present and former) who can both be attributed these same 4 adjectives in spite of being slightly different players. 10.) Kaka- Another Legend who defines Class, a natural talent with the ball, amazingly down-to-earth guy and a footballer with great professionalism. So heres my list. And now I nominate Vivek Arora, Ayush Awasthi, Ishan Negi, Ritesh Singh Tajta, Apurav Gupta, Axel Fernandes, Preetam Das, Muhammad Ibrahim and Vishal Ron for the #footballbucketchallenge.
