I was raised to know the Bible. I new what it was and I had an idea of what it contained, but it did nothing for my life because I simply looked at it and nothing more. Then I began to read it, and it still did nothing for my life, no change at all, because I did not put it into practice. You see if we merely look at or simply read the Bible and move on, the amount of good it will do or the level of change that will take place in our lives will be nonexistent. Simply reading it serves no purpose; it is the doing of it that will change your character, your situations, your surroundings and your life as a whole. There is nothing higher than the instruction in the Word of God. And no one can conceive of anything more beautiful than the joys, blessing and victories that are all results of our obedience to His Word. But this vital, initial step takes self-surrender which few are willing to make. -Troy Marbury
