I was reading The Shelf Elf Helps Out and got to the page about the 398 call numbers for folk tales and asked the second graders if someone wanted to try to find one. I was surprised that Trey and Louisa could follow the numbers and they brought me The Beauty and the Beast. I stuck it under the doc camera and we looked at a bit on the big screen and Jackson yells, Stop! That beast is going to give me nightmares. To which I replied, Yeah right kid. You just checked out a book on great white sharks.
