FORTUNES ROCKS by Anita Shreve The scene in the courtroom absolutely haunts me. 4. NIGHT by Elie Wiesel I cried in English class when I read this. Then I stayed late to read it again. 5. TUCK EVERLASTING by Natalie Babbitt A childrens book with fascinating themes. 6. THE MIRACULOUS JOURNEY OF EDWARD TULANE by Kate DiCamillo Another childrens book, but I cried when I read it aloud to my boys. 7. THE DISAPPEARANCE OF CHILDHOOD by Neil Postman Non-fiction. Forever changed my view on many things. His proteges book, NO SENSE OF PLACE, is mind-blowing, too. 8. THE PACT by Jodi Picoult Stayed up one whole night to read this. 9. A GIRL NAMED ZIPPY by Haven Kimmel My favorite line (paraphrasing): They arent slippers. They are my actual feet. 10. ACCIDENTAL TOURIST by Anne Tyler The way Tyler develops even mundane characters and makes them interesting amazes me.
